West Indies will tour Indian for a test match series starting from October 2nd. The Caribbean side has been struggling to get a win at their home; however, Darren Sammy is confident they can turn things around on their subcontinent tour
Heading into the India tour, Head coach Darren Sammy is placing the bets on his fiery pace unit, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Anderson Phillip, and Jayden Seales, with Justin Greaves offering balance as an all-rounder. While the subcontinent is known for spin dominance, head coach Darren Sammy believes this pace attack is built differently.

He pointed to Shamar Joseph's standout performances against Australia at home, where his raw pace and aggression turned heads, as proof that the quicks can thrive even in tough conditions.
“We’ve built a seam attack that can deliver anywhere in the world, not just in pace-friendly environments,” Sammy said during a press conference.

Despite the spin-friendly surfaces in Ahmedabad and Delhi, the West Indies are banking on their pacers to punch through and potentially influence the series.
In a bold move ahead of the India tour, the West Indies have dropped veteran opener and former skipper Kraigg Brathwaite, a man who’s played over 100 Tests for the Windies. Taking his place is the returning Tagenarine Chanderpaul, alongside Alick Athanaze, as the team looks to freshen up its top order.

Speaking on the call, head coach Darren Sammy pointed to Chanderpaul’s solid domestic form before injury cut his 4-Day Championship short; he was averaging around 42, and said the left-hander fits the role they need at the top.
“If you look at the numbers our openers have delivered in recent series, they haven’t quite done the job,” Sammy explained. “Tage brings clarity, the right skillset, and importantly, the ability to play spin, something we’ll need in India. In terms of experience and what we want from an opener, he was right up there.” Sammy concluded
